Summary Contains materials published by various groups and individuals, primarily based in New York City from the colonial period through the 20th century. Bulk of materials document local activity of Loyalists and Patriots during the Revolutionary War. Also contains printed ephemera related to elections, voting, and local New York City politics in the early 19th century. Additional 19th century materials include a small collection of broadsides and handbills published by the Union Executive Committee during and following the Civil War. 20th century materials consist primarily of flyers advocating women's suffrage, and posters advertising events related to book history and bibliography. Notable authors, printers, and groups are traced with added entries.
