Local Note NYSL copy: From the John Sharp Collection, with his signature and motto on the front free endpaper recto, reading "John Sharp 1716, Ad quid venisti?" Gift inscription above Sharp's signature reads "Ex dono Amici et Fratris dilectissimi et plurimum Reverendi W: Thorold V.D.M. apud ettleum [?] D. Martini in Campis," possibly Sir William Thorold, fifth Baronet of Thorold. With the Library's Trustees' notice on the front pastedown. First listed in the Library's 1813 catalog p. 14, and the 1838 catalog p. 59.
NYSL copy: This copy contains several pairs of cancelled, conjugate leaves. Text portions only from original cancellanda were cut out and replaced with new text, conjugal pairs appear not to have been separated.
