Local Note NYSL set: Title page lacking. With sixteenth century hand-colored woodcut bookplate of Konrad Peutinger on front pastedown endpapers, both volumes. Bookplate is dated 1516, and was designed (and cut?) by Hans Burgkmair. Volume 2 underlined and annotated throughout in a contemporary hand, most probably Peutinger's; a note on the rear fly-leaf verso reads "Ch Peutinger edidit." Head of title leaf in volume 2 signed "Soc[ietas] Jesu Augustæ"
NYSL set: Binding: Alum taw covered wooden boards, with blind rolled and stamped ornamentation. Design obscured by termite and wormhole damage.
