The Connecticut Historical Society Museum & Library website states that the partnership between Humphrey Phelps and Gaylord Watson as Phelps & Watson began in 1859 and terminated on January 1, 1865. Publisher's imprint implies that this book was issued shortly after the dissolution of that firm, and establishment of Watson's independent enterprise. See
